Xiaolin Ding
My day to day role involves doing system analysis in Power Factory or ELLA. ELLA is the old system and Power Factory is the new one.
I’m also involved in chairing the scheme investment meeting, writing sanction papers, and taking to the committee for sanction. Currently I’m working on one of the offshore windfarm projects – the total capacity is about 1200 megawatts and it’s a really important project to help us deliver our commitment for clean energy and cheaper energy for the future. I’m expecting to be involved in more offshore wind projects, especially in the east coast area.
If I didn’t do my job properly the impact would be significant. Because the design is a very important part of the investment schemes, we need to do it in an effective and efficient manner and we need to make sure the design is reliable and secure and robust. The failure of doing this may result in accidents in the future and reliability of the transmission network. Also it could cause a delay in the delivery of the investment project.
